New Westminster

New Westminster was selected as the capital of British Columbia in 1859 by Queen Victoria.  Often known as the “Royal City”, New Westminster is filled with heritage, character, and outstanding architecture. 

Not only does New Westminster house one of third largest hospitals in the lower mainland—The Royal Columbian Hospital, it also has one of the largest colleges—Douglas CollegeDouglas College has over 10,000 students in both credited and non credited programs.

New Westminster is separated by different neighborhoods—12th street , Historic Downtown, the Quay, Queensborough, Uptown, and Sapperton.
